When Magnús Pálsson represented Iceland at the Venice Biennale in 1980, he showed this piece from 1976, entitled "The seconds before the Sikorsky Helicopter touches down". The piece, now in the Reykjavík Museum of Art, is a cast of the wheels of the Icelandic Coast Guard helicopter just betfore it lands. In the 1970s, Magnús made many similar pieces, using casts to capture intangible moments and relations.
