To create this I put a freezer face down over a puddle.’ ![]() Talking Fountain 2007 A fountain made with sound-reactive cold cathode lights, magnifying Fresnel lenses and a home theater surround system. These readily available materials have certain restrictions that control the shape of the structure. Coming from the video, the splashing water sound mixed with a monologue that reminds you of a stand-up comedian, plays in the surround speaker system and is in a direct dialogue with the sculpture, which flickers like flowing water according to the sound. Sound-reacting cold cathode lights are piled on top of a home theater surround system, 5 speakers and a subwoofer. Three songs chosen for there names, are played repeatedly. The first one called Fire the next Fire Fire and the third Fire Fire Fire. The rhythm of each song mixes with the effect of each different speaker to make every bonfire act independently. The rhythm is clearly sensed in the flickering lights, which appear like flames. Photo: Ívar Brynjólfsson ![]() From Hekla Dögg's exhibition at the Living Art Museum. Video showing a part of a ship on one side and the horizon on the other. Every time the sea level in the video crosses the centerline of the ship, you hear a ringing tone and the lights in the wishing well turn on and flicker. The ringing and the lights grow even more agitated when the line of clouds reaches down to the centerline, but this happens only rarely.
